Senior Environmental Scientist​/Engineer

Overview

TRC is seeking an Environmental Engineer, Scientist or Geologist to join our growing Engineering, Construction and Remediation Practice in New York City, NY. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual and have 5-7 years of environmental due diligence, site investigation/characterization, environmental design and remediation implementation consulting experience. TRC’s New York City office is a vibrant, dynamic, and fast-paced work environment in the heart of Manhattan and provides access to a broad spectrum of professional experiences in a setting that thrives on teamwork.

• Implement site investigation/characterization and remedial action work plans, including but not limited to collection of soil, groundwater, soil vapor, indoor air, and surface water samples; logging of soil characteristics utilizing a standardized soil classification system; implementation of community air monitoring plans; and preparation of daily field activity reports.
• Prepare and review project specifications and engineering drawings.
• Coordinate and provide oversight and direction to subcontractors including remedial contractors, drillers, geophysical surveyors, and analytical laboratories.
• Preparation of associated reports, including report text, supporting field documentation (e.g., photograph, soil boring, test pit, monitoring well construction, and well development logs) and other appendices, and review and tabulation of laboratory analytical reports.
• Preparation of environmental specifications and design drawings

• B.S. or B.A. in environmental science, geology, engineering, or a related field.
• 5 to 7 years of environmental consulting experience with primary focus on environmental engineering, environmental due diligence, field investigations, and sampling.
• 40-hr HAZWOPER and 10-hr Construction certification would be a plus.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to demonstrate excellence and efficiency in writing, communication, data analysis, professional judgment, and knowledge of scientific principles.
• Strong sense of responsibility and work ethic, with a desire for career growth.
• Strong quality assurance/quality control skills and detail-oriented to perform technical, style, and consistency reviews.
• Ability to manage time and multiple project assignments.
• Working knowledge of health and safety practices.
• Conversant with Microsoft Word, Excel.
• Exposure to environmental consulting work in New York City a plus.
• Ability to work in a project team and train junior staff.

Compensation:
In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors. Other Compensation:
Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
