Responsibilities
NV5’s New York City office is seeking a Senior Site Civil Project Manager to lead the execution and technical oversight of complex site civil and land development projects. This is a management-focused role where you will guide multidisciplinary teams, ensure technical quality, and drive project delivery from concept through completion.
The selected candidate will be based in Lower Manhattan and will oversee the development of site civil engineering plans and specifications for a variety of projects, including:
- Institutional projects
- Electrical substations
- NYC Department of Parks & Recreation projects
Projects often focus on stormwater management design and require coordination with public and private clients in residential, commercial, institutional, energy, and public sectors, as well as federal, state, and local governments.
A summary of responsibilities follows:
Project Setup and Performance Oversight- Manage project setup and budget approvals
- Monitor project costs, budgets, risks, and change orders
- Develop project schedules and oversee invoicing coordination
- Ensure compliance with internal standards and client requirements
- Serve as primary client contact for presentations and coordination
- Lead technical teams and consultants, ensuring adherence to design standards
- Coordinate with municipalities and regulatory agencies
- Oversee construction contract management and observation services
- Manage stormwater design, reporting, and permitting
- Prepare technical reports and permit applications
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers
- Ensure quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) on deliverables
- BS in Civil Engineering required.
- Current PE in New York State or licensed in another state with the ability to obtain a New York PE license within six months.
- 7+ years of site/land development experience required including a thorough knowledge of the requirements of local, State and Federal agencies having land development approval jurisdiction.
- Thorough knowledge of local land development approval process including site design and grading, stormwater management and erosion & sediment control design, and utility design.
- Extensive site stormwater management design and permitting particularly with NYC DEP including Stormwater Construction Permit (SWPPP), and Site Connection Proposals
- Demonstrated project management experience including budget and schedule monitoring and control responsibilities.
- Strong client relations and business development skills.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.

The pay range for this position is $ - $ per year; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Included is a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits .This information is provided per the salary transparency provisions of the NYCHRL. Base pay information is based on market location.
