Overview
onsemi is seeking an Operations Lead — also known as Captain of the Ship (COS) — Who is responsible for executing tactical operations within a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role ensures delivery targets are met by driving output, cycle time, and quality performance while maintaining operational continuity across multiple technologies and process areas. The COS collaborates across departments and shifts to maintain seamless 24/7 production capability and enable continuous improvement.
Responsibilities- Partner across departments (Operations, Industrial Engineering, Automation, Module Engineering, Integration, etc.) to ensure performance of production, NPD, and development products.
- Lead benchmarking, copying, developing, implementing, and continuously improving operation standards, methodologies, and business processes.
- Identify and evaluate alternatives or contingencies to overcome start-up/ramp barriers.
- Collaborate with Site Leaders to manage resource interdependencies.
- Provide leadership to ensure cross-training and coverage across multiple technologies.
- Effectively communicate ideas — written and verbal — across all levels of the organization.
- Partner, influence, negotiate, and drive accountability across diverse functional teams in a dynamic environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor s or higher degree in Technical, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field — OR 3 plus years of semiconductor experience or Military Education.
- 3 plus years of leadership/management experience
- 3 plus years of experience in a 300mm manufacturing fab.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience applying manufacturing methodologies and principles (factory physics, manufacturing science, line management).
- Knowledge of Quality Control systems, Model-Based Problem Solving, and LEAN principles.
- Ability to learn complex systems and leverage them to optimize factory performance.

Salary: onsemi is excited to share the base salary range for this position is $110,700 to $188,100 exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. The final pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and/or consideration of internal equity of our current team members. We also offer a competitive benefits package.
