Who We Are Looking For:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineering Lead to take ownership of mechanical design and development for cutting-edge wearable technology. In this role, you will work cross-functionally with electrical engineers, industrial designers, and product managers to bring innovative ideas to life. You will lead and mentor a team of engineers, guiding them through the entire product development cycle—from concept to mass production.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Leading the mechanical design, prototyping, and testing of wearable devices.
- Developing and refining mechanical components for manufacturability, reliability, and user comfort.
- Collaborating closely with electrical, firmware, and design teams to ensure seamless integration.
- Overseeing material selection, thermal management, and structural integrity of products.
- Managing relationships with contract manufacturers and suppliers to ensure high-quality, cost-effective production.
- Driving the transition from prototype to mass production, ensuring efficiency and scalability.
- Mentoring and leading a team of mechanical engineers, fostering innovation and technical excellence.
- Staying up to date with advancements in wearable technology and mechanical engineering best practices.
What You Bring:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, with a strong focus on wearable technology and consumer electronics.
- Hands-on experience working with contract manufacturers and managing production processes.
- Proficiency in CAD software (Solid Works, Creo, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of materials science, injection molding, and precision manufacturing techniques.
- Experience with DFMA (Design for Manufacturability and Assembly) principles.
- Practical experience with rapid prototyping, 3D printing, and machining.
- Familiarity with thermal management, waterproofing, and ergonomics in product design.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- A proven track record of leadership, with a passion for mentoring and developing a team.
