Mechanical Engineering Lead – Wearable Technology

We are working with an innovative technology company at the forefront of wearable devices, seeking a Mechanical Engineering Lead to drive the development of next-generation products. Our client is a rapidly growing company dedicated to pushing the boundaries of personal technology through high-performance, user-centric design.

Who We Are Looking For:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineering Lead to take ownership of mechanical design and development for cutting-edge wearable technology. In this role, you will work cross-functionally with electrical engineers, industrial designers, and product managers to bring innovative ideas to life. You will lead and mentor a team of engineers, guiding them through the entire product development cycle—from concept to mass production.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Leading the mechanical design, prototyping, and testing of wearable devices.
  • Developing and refining mechanical components for manufacturability, reliability, and user comfort.
  • Collaborating closely with electrical, firmware, and design teams to ensure seamless integration.
  • Overseeing material selection, thermal management, and structural integrity of products.
  • Managing relationships with contract manufacturers and suppliers to ensure high-quality, cost-effective production.
  • Driving the transition from prototype to mass production, ensuring efficiency and scalability.
  • Mentoring and leading a team of mechanical engineers, fostering innovation and technical excellence.
  • Staying up to date with advancements in wearable technology and mechanical engineering best practices.

What You Bring:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, with a strong focus on wearable technology and consumer electronics.
  • Hands-on experience working with contract manufacturers and managing production processes.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (Solid Works, Creo, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of materials science, injection molding, and precision manufacturing techniques.
  • Experience with DFMA (Design for Manufacturability and Assembly) principles.
  • Practical experience with rapid prototyping, 3D printing, and machining.
  • Familiarity with thermal management, waterproofing, and ergonomics in product design.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proven track record of leadership, with a passion for mentoring and developing a team.
