About the Role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with strong experience designing and testing complex electromechanical systems in regulated or defense environments. You will contribute to the design, prototyping, and qualification of next-generation medical and resilience devices. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience applying MIL-STD-810 environmental testing standards and working with JECETS or equivalent test facilities. This role blends design engineering, systems integration, and test execution, supporting hardware development from concept through verification.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and refine mechanical components and assemblies for R&D and production.
  • Perform environmental qualification testing (vibration, shock, temperature, humidity) per MIL-STD-810 standards.
  • Collaborate with external partners and testing labs (JECETS or equivalent) to validate system performance.
  • Develop CAD models, technical drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Interface with electrical and firmware engineers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and electronic systems.
  • Support build activities, including prototype assembly, fixture design, and supplier coordination.
  • Contribute to risk analysis, DFMEA documentation, and design reviews.
About You
  • You are a precision thinker who thrives in complexity. You move fluidly between CAD design, hands-on prototyping, and rigorous testing — transforming ideas into resilient, manufacturable systems.
  • You are a builder
. You bring structure to ambiguity, translating technical requirements into elegant mechanical solutions that endure under pressure.
  • You are a collaborator
. You work seamlessly with electrical, firmware, and manufacturing teams to ensure every detail aligns.
  • You are a disciplined and steady
. You document thoroughly, test methodically, and deliver work that stands up to scrutiny — from the lab to the field.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience designing and testing electromechanical or medical systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of MIL-STD-810 environmental test methods and qualification procedures.
  • Experience working with JECETS or similar test frameworks.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (Solid Works preferred).
  • Familiarity with GD&T, tolerance analysis, and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; hands-on prototyping experience required.
  • Experience with ISO 13485, DoD, or FDA-regulated environments is a plus.
Preferred but Not Required
  • Exposure to medical device lifecycle documentation (DHF, DMR, etc.).
  • Experience with 3D printing, DFM/DFA, or rapid prototyping methods.
  • Knowledge of thermal and structural simulation tools (e.g., Ansys).
