You will gain hands-on experience in structural design for major rail and transit facilities while working alongside seasoned engineers who are passionate about mentorship and fostering professional growth.

This role provides exposure to challenging transit projects and the chance to develop your skills in a fast-paced, rewarding environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with structural design and analysis for stations, maintenance facilities, coach yards, and right-of-way structures.
  • Prepare calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including civil, mechanical, electrical, and architectural engineers to integrate structural solutions into complex transit projects.
  • Support field investigations, site visits, and condition assessments to better understand real-world design applications.
  • Learn to navigate relevant codes and standards including AREMA, AASHTO, IBC, and NYC-specific requirements.
  • Participate in client meetings and project discussions to understand project scope, constraints, and design objectives.
  • Receive mentorship and guidance from senior engineers while gradually taking on more design responsibility.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 1–5 years of structural engineering experience, preferably in transit, transportation, or infrastructure projects.
  • EIT (Engineer in Training) certification is preferred; working toward PE licensure is a plus.
  • Familiarity with structural analysis software such as SAP
    2000, ETABS, RAM, or similar.
  • Experience with BIM/CAD platforms including Revit, Micro Station (Open Buildings) or AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.
  • Passion for learning, growing technical capabilities, and contributing to complex engineering solutions.
Why Join TYLin?
  • Work on challenging, high-profile rail + transit projects that impact millions of commuters.
  • Join a supportive, creative, and dedicated team committed to mentorship and professional development.
  • Strengthen your structural design capabilities while gaining exposure to real-world, complex infrastructure projects.
  • Enjoy a hybrid work environment, competitive compensation, and comprehensive benefits.
  • Build your long-term career through hands-on experience, training, and growth opportunities within a collaborative culture.
