Job Description
The Crown Innovations, Inc. is growing and seeking professionals to support critical radar systems upgrades nationwide as part of a major FAA effort to modernize the US National Airspace System. This work enhances the safety, reliability, and efficiency of air traffic operations. Crown is searching for Air Traffic Control Radar Engineering Technicians with experience in installing and/or maintaining digital Primary Airport Surveillance Radar (DASR) Systems, such as FAA ASR-9, ASR-11 models, and FAA Secondary Radar System, such as the ATCBI-6/Mode-S or comparable military primary and secondary radar systems to conduct Site Surveys in preparation for equipment replacement.
Military personnel with experience in radar systems who perform critical roles across various branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, focusing on operation, maintenance, and support of sophisticated radar equipment, are also eligible to apply.
Responsibilities- The Engineering Technician will coordinate and conduct site surveys at designated locations throughout the US. A site survey for equipment installation evaluates a physical location to determine its suitability for a specific project, ensuring all technical, logistical, and safety requirements are met before any installation begins.
- Gather detailed information about site drawings, maps, charts, infrastructure, environmental conditions, and Radar System Replacement solutions; identify cable routing paths, facility power buss connections, and evaluate grounding/bonding/lightning protection; determine modifications needed to create a comprehensive blueprint for installation. The survey will identify all necessary cable lengths and any hardware needs.
- Document actions to be performed, based on information provided by the Government prior to the survey and information gathered during the survey.
- Provide a Site Survey Report for review by the Site Design, Quality Control, and Safety Risk Management team. The approved report will be provided to the Customer and may cover elements such as structural components, MEP systems, equipment conditions, or network configuration. The report may include a safety, security, and hazard checklist for security or event production, ensuring that all logistical and operational risks are identified before the event.
- An Associate degree in electronics or electronic engineering technology, or equivalent military or FAA or Military training certificates.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in radar signal processing, digital and analog circuits, microprocessors, antenna performance for primary and secondary radar systems, and the ability to use diagnostic tools and software.
- Knowledge of electronics, radar systems, and troubleshooting; often gained through formal education or specialized technical training.
- Proficiency with tools such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power meters, and signal generators for system maintenance.
- Ability to analyze facility drawings for accuracy and provide red-line changes where appropriate.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools for documenting and creating high-level reports.
- Experience with structural components, MEP systems, equipment conditions, or network configuration.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and software, reading electronic schematics and flowcharts.
- Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust.
