Senior AM Engineer

POSITION SNAPSHOT:
Our client is seeking a Senior AM Engineer for their contract manufacturing ITAR regulated facility in Upstate New York. The Senior Additive Manufacturing Engineer will lead the development, optimization, and implementation of advanced additive manufacturing processes to support high‑volume production, innovation, and exceptional product quality throughout the manufacturing lifecycle. Reporting to the Director of Additive Operations, this role serves as a technical expert responsible for managing major production programs, guiding complex engineering projects from concept through production, and collaborating closely with internal teams and customers to define requirements, optimize materials and process parameters, and ensure builds meet strict specifications.

Key responsibilities include developing and approving master routers, programming DMLS equipment, conducting root‑cause analysis and corrective actions, reviewing material data and inspection results, supporting Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM), and leading continuous improvement initiatives using lean and automation methodologies. The engineer will mentor junior team members, participate in production meetings, support quoting activities with technical insight, and assist with AM equipment utilization and maintenance.

Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in Engineering and bring at least five years of additive manufacturing experience, along with deep knowledge of PBF/DMLS processes, CAD proficiency, strong understanding of GD&T and technical specifications, and excellent communication, problem‑solving, and project‑management skills.
