Job Description & How to Apply Below
Location: New York

Our client is looking to hire an experienced technical project manager to lead project execution for a connected smart devices company. You will own projects end-to-end by organizing resources, planning work, and partnering closely with engineering, firmware, hardware, software, operations, and customers to deliver reliable solutions in regulated, real‑world environments.

This is a highly technical, hands‑on role requiring deep understanding of embedded devices, project management, and occasional debugging to drive projects to completion.

Responsibilities
  • Own product projects end-to-end at various stages: discovery and initial demos through launches and large‑scale deployments
  • Collaborate directly with senior product and engineering leadership
  • Create clear technical specifications to lead engineering, manufacturing, hardware, firmware, and software execution
  • Plan and drive sprints and project timelines to completion, balancing scope, risk, and impact
  • Participate in hands‑on debugging when needed to unblock teams and resolve device‑level issues
  • Engage directly with customers and participate in onsite or field activities to understand real‑world constraints
  • Define launch criteria and success metrics; iterate based on reliability, usage, and performance data
  • Communicate priorities, tradeoffs, risks, and decisions across teams and leadership
  • Implement processes that integrate customer feedback into product development
Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience, preferably in IoT / automation
  • Degree in Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or similar
  • Strong understanding of hardware, firmware, and embedded communications
  • Experience owning projects end-to-end, including planning, execution, and delivery
  • Familiarity with Agile development and OKR‑style execution frameworks
  • Ability to organize people and resources to complete complex, cross‑discipline work
  • Excited to go onsite whether it’s to conduct customer research or resolve installation issues
