We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the planning and design of a wide range of facilities and infrastructure projects. This role provides in-house electrical engineering expertise to support capital, O&M, and emergency projects across substations, service centers, steam/electrical systems, and more.
Key Responsibilities- Lead engineering design for facilities, yards, and commercial buildings
- Specify & select power equipment (MV/LV switch gear, generators, UPS, etc.)
- Perform electrical load calculations:
short circuit, voltage drop, breaker coordination, conduit/cable sizing, lighting - Ensure compliance with NEC, NYC/NYS Building Codes
- Review and approve contractor drawings, calculations, and submittals
- Act as internal consultant and collaborate with architects, consultants & stakeholders
- Conduct cost-benefit studies and support capital budgeting
- Serve in a lead/project manager role for engineering coordination
- Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and 8+ years of relevant experience
- Strong technical skills in power systems and electrical equipment sizing
- Familiarity with NEC and NYC/NYS building codes
- Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage shifting priorities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills
(OR Master’s degree with 6+ years experience)
