A reputable and growing engineering firm on Long Island is seeking a motivated MEP Engineer with HVAC and plumbing design experience to join our collaborative team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer looking to gain hands-on project experience across a diverse portfolio of commercial, institutional, and residential projects.
Responsibilities- Design and layout of HVAC and plumbing systems for new construction and renovation projects
- Perform heating/cooling load calculations and equipment selection
- Develop plans and specifications using AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines
- Conduct site visits and assist with construction administration
- Ensure designs comply with NYS and local building codes
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 3-25+ years of MEP design experience (HVAC and plumbing required)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD experience preferred
- Knowledge of NYS building codes and industry standards
- EIT certification preferred (or on track to obtain)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
