Senior Infrastructure and Security Engineer

Contract to Hire

This role is responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing support of enterprise datacenter, compute, storage, network, and security infrastructure across a highly regulated and performance-driven environment.

• Develop, deploy, and maintain scalable infrastructure solutions including servers, storage platforms, networking systems, and cloud environments.
• Ensure optimal system performance by proactively monitoring infrastructure, troubleshooting issues, and applying updates, patches, and improvements.
• Implement and enforce security controls and best practices to ensure infrastructure meets internal standards and external regulatory requirements.
• Leverage scripting and automation tools to streamline operational processes, improve efficiency, and reduce manual intervention.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, Dev Ops, and IT teams to align infrastructure capabilities with evolving business and technology needs.
• Design, implement, and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure high availability and business continuity.
• Engineer and support enterprise LAN, WAN, and security infrastructure with a focus on resiliency, scalability, and minimal operational disruption.
• Maintain accurate records of infrastructure assets including servers, network devices, endpoints, and software licensing to ensure lifecycle management and compliance.
• Partner with business and technical stakeholders to enhance remote access, mobility, and collaboration capabilities for a distributed workforce.
• Demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and decision-making skills while managing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Perform additional engineering and operational duties as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong hands‑on experience with VMware and enterprise virtualization platforms.
• Solid understanding of core networking concepts including routing, switching, and network security.
• Experience implementing and managing firewalls, network infrastructure, and security technologies.
• Experience with automation tools such as Power Shell, Terraform, Ansible, or similar scripting platforms.
• Knowledge of enterprise backup and recovery solutions and related best practices.
• Experience with enterprise security technologies such as endpoint protection, network access control, data protection, and content filtering.
• Deep expertise with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
• Experience supporting cloud infrastructure environments.
• Advanced hands‑on engineering experience with enterprise x86 server platforms and storage systems.
