HDR has an exceptional career opportunity for an experienced industry professional to serve in a leadership position as our NY/NJ Transportation Business Group Professional Services Leader (PSL). Professional Services is an area of our organization responsible for developing technical resources and maintaining a culture of quality. These practices improve our competitiveness and drive our growth.

As PSL, you will report to the NY/NJ TBG Manager and work alongside the TBG Manager to provide technical oversight and staffing resource assignments for projects across all the offices within New York and New Jersey. You will coordinate with the TBG Business Class and Practice Leads who serve as the technical delivery leads for the TBG Market Sectors. As TBG PSL, you will support the continued career development of Business Class and Practice Leads within the TBG.

You will collaborate closely with HDR’s Professional Services Global Directors to implement the Business Group’s technical and quality initiatives within the NY/NJ TBG.

In addition to your primary responsibilities as summarized below, the PSL will be responsible for collaborating on technical delivery and business development for cross-business group opportunities within the area. You will also support recruiting efforts to attract and retain eminent talent for our local program.

• Be responsible to the Business Group Manager to develop, coordinate, monitor and improve technical competencies of Business Group staff to meet client needs and market drivers.
• Assist with daily operations, such as project oversight, management reviews, financials and driving profitability at the project level.
• Supervise the key cross sector leads and ensure groups are providing critical value to the BG in either growing, providing critical delivery or reducing risk by housing in-house specialties.
• Lead and monitor development and training of area staff in technical and business competencies.
