The Software Quality Engineer (SQE) will provide independent oversight of software verification activities on mission-critical programs. The SQE will witness testing performed by development teams, validate that all activities conform to approved Software Engineering Test Plans, and assure compliance with aerospace and defense quality standards such as AS9100, DO-178C, and ISO 9001. The SQE will review and approve Software Engineering Test Plans for completeness, traceability, and alignment with contractual and regulatory requirements.
Ensure test plans incorporate required coverage of functional, integration, performance, and safety criteria. The SQE will assess test results against the acceptance criteria defined in the test plans. The SQE will support defect disposition and trouble report meetings as an independent observer. Once trouble reports are deemed resolved by Engineering, the SQE will ensure the status of the defect is catalogued in the appropriate system and verify the resolution to the applicable requirement is achieved.
The SQE will be supporting the Quality Program Management of the Software Elements of the program and plan, prepare, and execute audits to ensure compliance based on Configuration Control requirements, Software Development Plans, and Quality Assurance Plans.
Key Responsibilities:
Develops, modifies and applies quality principles to the development and use of system/software and system/software-based systems for make and/or buy system/software products. Perform verification and validation of test equipment including hardware in the loop systems. Develops overall operating criteria to ensure implementation of the software quality program according to project, process and contract requirements and objectives. Verifies the designs, implementation of system/software development and maintenance processes.
Defines audit strategy to ensure compliance with systems/software processes. Designs, specifies and conducts test methods for system/software inspection, verification and validation. Evaluates and analyzes system/software quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Ensure measures meet acceptable reliability standards. Performs system/software product reviews against contractual, technical and/or process requirements. Reviews include requirement specifications, design documents, source code, test plans and procedures, materials, tools, techniques, and methodologies.

Basic Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Master's degree.
-AS9100 Knowledge/Experience
- Experience with verification and validation processes
-Auditing Experience for Software/Systems
Software Engineering, Software Quality Engineering or Quality Engineering Experience
Experience in Requirements Analysis, Design/Development, Product Integration and Test
-Must be able to possess Secret Security Clearance
-Effective interpersonal skills, including Team building and Collaboration
-Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications:
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Desired
Skills:
Previous experience within a Quality Role.
Defect trending experience using Excel, Pivot Tables, Dashboards, Root Cause Analysis (e.g. 5
Why, Ishikawa Diagrams, Flow Charts, Pareto Analysis).
Experience with Government Contracts and working with Government customers and stakeholders.
Lean Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt).
ASQ Certified Quality Engineer. Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems and Audit experience (AS9100, ISO
9001)
Experience with development, production, and sustainment contracts.
Security Clearance Statement:
