Team Leader – Quality

Job Purpose Team Leader-Quality is responsible for developing, assigning responsibility, implementing and monitoring the site’s Master Validation Plan. This includes delivery of training and execution of methodologies to enable the manufacturing site to produce a product that meets its predetermined specification and quality attribute. The individual will also manage the validation master plan for all equipment and processes at the site, participate in Divisional and Corporate Quality Audits, develop and mentor the site’s Quality competency and capability, leverage audit results and KPI data to identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities, reduce variation and waste in process, and build relationships with Product Development, Local Marketing, Packaging, Supply Chain, Quality, EOHS, LMS departments and external consultants.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure SOP for validation is in place and communicate the process effectively to the entire plant operation team.
  • Incorporate best practices in master validation plan, benchmarking international subsidiaries.
  • Ensure a documented validation process for all operational equipment and processes in the plant.
  • Train team members on validation process and monitor compliance levels.
  • Take full charge of any validation process in the plant, effectively communicating and documenting results.
  • Pursue efficient development paths to drive speed to market.
  • Ensure new TB product bundles achieve target cost and identify ongoing margin improvement opportunities.
  • Advocate and drive product, materials, process, and package standardization and simplification.
  • Use a systematic project management approach to share technical data, performance results, product and package evaluations, timelines, risks, and information.
  • Document and communicate technical transfer bundle to the plant floor for efficient implementation.
  • Ensure feasibility and robustness of product, packaging, and process designs.
  • Ensure products are commercialized in accordance with quality, EOHS, product safety and regulatory standards.
  • Understand industry/competitive trends, consumer insight tools, market research methodologies and claim substantiation.
  • Identify and implement technical innovation in new TB products.
  • Apply statistical concepts, packages, and design of experiments.
  • Demonstrate creativity and use appropriate technologies in generating designs and models.
  • Supervise and manage operators and technicians.
  • Help the team set priorities.
  • Evaluate and document performance of all operators and technicians as required.
  • Provide direct supervision on-site for high complexity testing performed by certain individuals.
  • Monitor, test, analyze and examine to ensure analytic performance levels are maintained.
  • Provide day‑to‑day supervision of personnel performing high complexity testing.
  • Resolve technical problems in quality equipment and ensure corrective actions are taken when deviations occur.
  • Provide orientation to all quality personnel.
  • Act as effective interface between Leadership and Operating Teams to communicate concerns and decisions.
  • Ensure quality‑related data in SAP and shop floor is accurately maintained.
  • Communicate critical quality issues to Manager Quality.
  • Develop teams through coaching and feedback.
  • Drive ownership and set the example.
Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the FMCG industry with Quality & production management experience.

Preferred Experience:

Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing and management of materials, safety, quality, and hands‑on people management in a facility with exposure to shift work and large manpower.

Professional Qualifications & Training

Bachelor or Master’s degree in Science/technical stream from any recognized university.

Preferred:
Packaging Engineer with strong knowledge and experience in tooth‑brush manufacturing.

Priority setting / analysis / decision making, planning/teamwork & collaboration, effective execution, influence & negotiation, set example by leading from the front, good communication skills.
