Project Engineer – TN WISE (Well Integrity & Sustaining Enhancing)
NSB Omega is searching for a Project Engineer – TN WISE (Well Integrity & Sustaining Enhancing) for our MAJOR Oil & Gas Client in St. John's, NL.
OverviewAs a Project Engineer supporting the TN WISE project, you will implement and provide coordination of various project management tools and functions within the Develop & Manage Projects (D&MP) framework.
You will support project development and execution by coordinating robust Risk and Change Management processes, tracking and control of project documentation, interdepartmental alignment, and driving readiness through stage-gate progression. As the project transitions from planning to execution, you will support the delivery of 3rd party services and equipment ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
Key Accountabilities- Coordinate the project's risk process, including facilitating risk assessments, maintaining the project risk register, and ensuring mitigation plans are assigned, executed, and reported.
- Lead the Project Change Request (PCR) process, maintaining the change register, identifying potential change, ensuring awareness and alignment of change across the project team, and reporting.
- Maintain the Master Document Register (MDR) and the Document Distribution Matrix (DDM) to driving gate readiness, vendor interfaces, controlled document reviews, regulatory approvals and offshore execution readiness.
- Support engineering integration across disciplines throughout front end and execution stages.
- Ensure compliance with the Client's OEMS, Project Delivery Framework (D&MP) and regulatory requirements.
- Support scope development, change management and risk identification.
- Participate in design reviews, HAZOP/HAZID, constructability reviews and readiness assessments.
- Prepare status updates, decision-support documents and materials for governance reviews.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external service providers.
- Engineering degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Chemical or a related discipline.
- 7–10 years of experience supporting capital or sustaining projects.
- Strong understanding of stage-gate project development, risk management, change management, and multidiscipline coordination.
- Demonstrated ability to work within structured governance and quality systems.
- Excellent communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills.
- Professional Engineer (P. Eng) currently registered (or eligible for immediate registration) with PEGNL.
- Experience in within the offshore oil and gas industry.
- Major-project well delivery experience.
- Understanding of the Client's Project Delivery Model, and assurance processes.
- Experience working with engineering consultants, vendors and multi-disciplined teams.
- The successful candidate will be based out of the The Client's head office in St. John’s, NL.
- This role is primarily office-based, but time will be required at site and/or contractor office locations, based on business needs.
- The hours of work are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with the potential requirement for extended hours based on business needs.
- Anticipated start date of April 6th, 2026.
- Collaboration with vendors, and the Client's project teams.
