Project Scheduler – Transmission, Distribution, Substations

Position: Project Scheduler

Location: Multiple New York locations (flexibility depending on candidate)

Travel: Approximately 10–15% regional travel

Role Overview

The Project Scheduler plays a key role in planning, tracking, and delivering complex utility infrastructure projects on time and safely. This role involves developing and maintaining detailed construction schedules, collaborating closely with project teams and clients, and ensuring accurate reporting, forecasting, and coordination across multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, update, and maintain detailed construction schedules using Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar tools.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, field teams, subcontractors, and clients to gather schedule inputs and provide updates.
  • Monitor project progress, identify critical path risks, and track milestone completion and resource allocation.
  • Integrate schedule data from estimates, drawings, change orders, and field reports.
  • Support outage planning, energization schedules, permitting timelines, and material coordination.
  • Conduct site visits to verify progress and ensure alignment between field execution and project schedules.
  • Produce reports, look-ahead schedules, forecasts, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all project activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, engineering, business, or related field preferred (or equivalent industry experience).
  • Typically 5–10 years of experience in utility construction, infrastructure, or heavy civil projects.
  • Strong scheduling expertise with Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
