System Engineer

The core competency they need is around VMWare administration and management of physical servers/Cisco infrastructure (in Edison, NJ), as well as DR (on-prem in our NY office). Trips to the NJ data center have historically been done monthly, otherwise in the office in NY.

The ideal candidate should possess at least 13-15 years of experience. We are looking to engage them on a contract basis, with a duration ranging from 6 months to 1 year. Securing this deal depends on our ability to find the right candidate before the client finds a replacement.

The technology requirement is as follows:

• Core competency managing VMware environment, running security patches, and upgrades when necessary
• Managing and administering Physical Servers at the data center (Prod) and on-prem (DR)
• Management, maintenance, and troubleshooting Cisco UCS X/UCS Manager
• Basic management of SQL Servers (hosted on-prem cluster)
• Managing native backups and restores
• Database maintenance and performance monitoring
• Optimizing performance through indexing, query tuning, and configuration changes.
• Configuration manager patching
• Disaster Recovery (Zerto)
• Running and executing Annual DR testing
• Management of Storage Arrays
• Prod:
  Pure storage (iSCSI flash)
• DR: 2 HP MSA all flash, 1 QNAP - Primary storage target for backup, 1 DAS
• Management of Active Directory infrastructure
• Exchange/O365 infrastructure (2 Exchange Servers on the latest version)
• Management of WSO (Wall Street Oasis) Application Server (Skill not mandatory and can be cross-trained)
