Electrical Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical design drawings for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, communications, and grounding systems using AutoCAD, Revit, or other relevant design software.
• Perform electrical engineering calculations and studies, including load calculations, short-circuit analysis, voltage drop analysis, and coordination studies.
• Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes and standards, including NEC, NFPA, IEEE, local building codes, and client-specific requirements.
• Coordinate electrical designs with civil, structural, mechanical, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated building systems.
• Review and approve shop drawings, technical submittals, and material specifications.
• Provide technical support during construction, including responding to RFIs and conducting site inspections.
• Prepare and maintain electrical design documentation, including schematics, schedules, and technical specifications.
• Attend project meetings and site visits, coordinating with contractors, vendors, and stakeholders as required.
• Participate in value engineering efforts and identify opportunities for design optimization and cost savings.
• Ensure designs are constructible, energy-efficient, and aligned with project schedules and budgets.

• Five (5) years of experience performing electrical design engineering work in the construction industry, including buildings, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
• Five (5) years of experience developing electrical designs for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, communication, and grounding systems.
• Five (5) years of experience preparing construction documents and coordinating electrical designs with other engineering disciplines.
• Seven (7) years of experience in electrical design engineering within the construction industry.
• Five (5) years of experience using electrical analysis and design software such as ETAP, SKM, or similar tools.
• Five (5) years of experience performing electrical system studies, including short-circuit, coordination, and voltage drop analyses.
• Three (3) years of experience participating in value engineering and design optimization initiatives.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
  , or equivalent regional certification.
• Five (5) years of experience applying applicable electrical codes and standards, including NEC, NFPA, and IEEE.
• Five (5) years of experience using AutoCAD and/or Revit for electrical design and documentation.
• Five (5) years of experience supporting projects during construction through RFI responses, site visits, and field coordination.
• Five (5) years of experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Five (5) years of experience demonstrating strong verbal and written communication and teamwork skills.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (B.E.,
  
  B.Tech, or equivalent).
