Job type: Full-Time | On-Site
An established MEP engineering firm is seeking a Senior Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineer / MEP Designer to join its Brooklyn, NY office.
This role is ideal for an experienced professional with strong technical design capabilities, NYC code expertise, and the ability to manage multiple projects.
Responsibilities- Design Plumbing and Fire Protection systems from concept through construction documents
- Prepare calculations for water, gas, sanitary/sewer, and storm systems
- Perform field surveys and assess existing building conditions
- Produce drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders
- Review shop drawings and participate in project meetings
- Manage multiple assignments and deadlines
- 5+ years of Plumbing and/or Fire Protection design experience
- Minimum 3 years of NYC-specific design experience
- Strong knowledge of NYC Building Code and NYC Energy Conservation Code
- Experience with NYC filing and approval processes
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit is a plus)
- Familiarity with NFPA standards (NFPA-13 / 13R)
- Hydraulic calculation experience preferred
- Strong communication and coordination skills
