Position SummaryWe have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Commissioning Engineer. In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for the commissioning (Cx) of up to 25-30 construction projects concurrently. They will liaison between design, construction and operations departments. They will also develop bid specifications for Cx vendors, monitor construction and punchlist activities, participate and review all construction documents.
The successful candidate will manage close-out processes for Cx projects and self-commission projects as needed.
- Maintain and file all engineering submittals and commissioning documentation.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Provide construction project oversight to validate MEP systems meet hospital and school requirements.
- Maintain code compliance for construction sites.
- Review final commissioning report and NYULH project closeout matrix to ensure all documentation has been collected.
- Review, comment and approve Methods of Procedures and Sequence of Operations.
- Develop expertise in all MEP systems.
- Confirm training of plant and maintenance staff during project closeout.
- Perform periodic construction site progress walkthroughs.
- Review as-built drawings to ensure conformance with construction documents.
- Develop expertise in NYULH Engineering design guidelines.
- Supervises testing and commissioning efforts.
- Reviews Commissioning documentation.
- Participate in design meetings to review construction documents and specifications. Track comments made by senior staff to ensure they are incorporated into final bid documents.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- 2+ years total construction/commissioning/engineering experience; intern/military/merchant marine experience considered.
- OSHA safety training required at time of hire.
- Excellent computer skills in engineering/architectural software applications, such as Bluebeam Revu, AutoCAD as well as Excel, Access and Word.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Familiarity with all types of mechanical and electrical systems, building control systems, utility distribution.
- Must possess the ability to function in stressful situations and respond to emergency conditions.
- Hospital experience a plus.

Salary range for this role is $97,589.95 - $ annually. Actual compensation varies by experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
