Position: Staff Waterfront/Coastal Engineer
Location: New York

Engineering – New York, New York

Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 annually

Are you interested in working in and around the water? Would you like to quickly grow your engineering knowledge through direct practical experience? Would you like the opportunity to design for the challenging coastal environment? If so, we are seeking a motivated engineer to work on complex and exciting projects at locations throughout the Northeast.

Responsibilities
  • Work on a variety of waterfront and coastal projects throughout the region.
  • Learn new skills and perform engineering analyses and design.
  • Perform field surveys and inspect existing structures.
  • Perform computations, analyses, and modeling, and prepare design drawings.
  • Take a key role in construction field inspections for activities such as pile driving, bulkhead wall construction, and other types of coastal work.
Minimum Qualifications
  • B.S. or M.S. in Structural or Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 0 to 2+ years of experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Prepared to work in inclement conditions, with travel and overnight stays as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in waterfront/coastal engineering.
  • Structural steel, concrete, and/or foundation design coursework or experience.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, ArcGIS, programming, and modeling tools.
  • Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
