Job Summary (Sr. Telecom Solution Engineer – NYC)
- Lead and execute a critical legacy telecom (Channel Bank, POTS, 56K, T1) retirement and migration initiative to modern Ethernet, MPLS, fiber, and wireless solutions.
- Serve as a hands‑on subject matter expert, responsible for both technical strategy and execution in a regulated utility environment.
- Evaluate existing legacy telecommunications systems, perform service inventory, and analyze service dependencies.
- Design phased migration strategies, including detailed cutover plans, rollback procedures, and testing requirements.
- Own or direct carrier engagement for ordering, provisioning, turn‑ups, and disconnects.
- Lead and provide real‑time technical oversight during cutover events, both on‑site and remotely.
- Coordinate and manage multiple stakeholders, including carriers, contractors, internal SMEs, operations teams, and senior leadership.
- Track execution progress, manage risk, and generate status reports using Microsoft 365 (Excel, SharePoint, Teams), Visio, and Project.
- Ensure formal service decommissioning and billing disconnects to achieve cost savings.
- Adhere to change management and regulatory compliance standards specific to the utility industry.
