Systems Engineer
Your New Role
The Associate Engineer will support the Broadcast IT engineering department during live productions and day‑to‑day operations. Responsibilities include incident response, service requests, troubleshooting systemic problems, inventory documentation, and training across studio and control rooms, servers, AR/VR, remote production, AI and cloud technologies. The role supports two SMPTE 2110 native facilities and requires flexibility for shift work, occasional weekends and holidays, and travel between WBD sites.
RoleAccountabilities
- Provide tier‑2 support for live and taped events, including troubleshooting wiring of studio cameras, set monitors, audio, lighting and Ethernet connections.
- Serve as the technology point person for studio and production control room productions.
- Participate in on‑site and remote training, communicate clearly with team and production staff, and create or update documentation for equipment inventory, status and workflows.
- Work with partners to satisfy their needs, gather information for the Engineering team, and cultivate cooperative relationships to ensure technical and operational readiness.
- Provide daily reporting on operational issues and any events impacting the air.
- Assist in developing, testing and implementing new systems, software and equipment, and help lead repairs or upgrades under guidance of Lead and Senior Engineers.
- 1+ years of experience in television, multimedia content or broadcast maintenance.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair broadcast and computer equipment.
- Basic understanding of audio/video signal flow and routing.
- Knowledge of computer desktop hardware/application and data networking.
- A four‑year engineering degree (or equivalent work experience in live broadcast engineering).
- Knowledge of intercom systems used in production environments.
- Basic understanding of SMPTE 2110, Evertz routing systems and Magnum Control.
- CCNA certification or networking background.
- Experience with cloud technologies.
Pay range: $59,507.00 – $ per year. Additional rewards may include annual bonuses, short‑ and long‑term incentives, and program‑specific awards.
