JLJ IV Enterprises is a heavy civil contractor that specializes in utilities and road reconstruction projects for the city of New York and is well established with more than 25 years of experience in the industry. We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager, who will be responsible for the planning, coordination and delivery of projects, within our Engineering/Estimating Department.
This role oversees all phases of the project lifecycle, including budgeting, scheduling, contract administration, engineering coordination, and field support, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. The Project Manager works closely with internal engineering and construction teams, subcontractors, and public agencies to manage project risks, maintain regulatory compliance, and drive effective communication among stakeholders. This position plays a critical role in coordinating technical, financial, and operational aspects of complex infrastructure projects while upholding the company’s standards for quality, safety, and performance.
JLJIV Enterprises is located in Queens Village, NY and this position would be an in-person role 5 days a week. Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and oversee all aspects of heavy civil construction contracts, from initiation to completion, including: revenue, safety, risk, schedule, and assuring compliance with contract drawing and specifications.
- Represent JLJ at project field and progress meetings.
- Prepare and review project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations, identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to procure materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project specifications.
- Keep an accurate account of quantities of work performed by JLJ and subcontractor forces.
- Track changes due to field conditions, and prepare cost and schedule impacts for review.
- Monitor construction progress and provide accurate reports of project status and updated forecasting of cost to complete.
- Prepare and submit project look ahead schedules.
- Maintain organized project files.
- Obtain the permits and approvals necessary to perform work.
- Manage communication with: field offices, agency inspectors, utility companies, and community boards.
- Stay updated with industry trends, construction methodologies, and regulations to contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- 5+ years experience with water main, sewer, and heavy highway projects
- Experience working with NYC Agencies, preferably NYCDDC and NYCDEP
- Experience with scheduling software (Primavera - P6)
- Experience with HCSS project management platform
- Experience with design/visualization software such as Visio or AutoCAD
- Understanding of value engineering and constructability reviews
- Strong knowledge of construction principles, techniques, and practices for heavy civil engineering projects
- Strong interpersonal communications and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams
- Strong project management, problem-solving & decision-making skills

Base Compensation: $125K-$175K+, depending on experience
