Field Engineer - Structural Steel

The expected salary range for this position is $90,000 - $150,000 depending on experience

Tutor Perini Corporation is seeking a Field Engineer – Structural Steel for our Midtown Bus Terminal project site in Manhattan, NY
.

• Meet daily with project crews to confirm all materials, equipment, and resources are readily available for the planned construction activities on schedule
• Collect, coordinate, and analyze shop drawings, design specifications, material requirements, and project data through the duration of the project
• Provide technical input for project work plans and scheduling
• Identify risk elements of production, materials, equipment or process that could negatively impact the budget or schedule
• Evaluate daily production, schedule and budget projections to accurately track project performance
• Notify team members and manager of any significant schedule changes and recommend solutions for management consideration
• Provide project quantity input to ensure project financials are accurately reported
• Manage cost coding regarding employee time, materials, equipment, and subcontractor activities
• Review and approve daily timecards, assist on-site Office Manager to resolve any pay discrepancies with crews
• Review project specifications for quality assurance at the beginning of work, during the project work and after work completes
• Initiate and manage appropriate permits, certificates, inspections, and other documentation regarding construction activities
• Conduct required Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) to ensure a safe and compliant work environment for all construction personnel
• Attend weekly safety meetings with field team and project leadership; present field analysis as needed
• Assist the development of design drawings and provide technical input, as needed
• Coordinate subcontractor work methods, schedule and crews as needed

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent
• Four (4)+ years of experience as an engineer
• Heavy field interface experience
• Ability to conduct meetings and present topics to a group
• Ability to read and understand drawings
• Basic knowledge and understanding of Procure (or equivalent), Blue Beam and HCSS
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word/Excel)
• Demonstrated aptitude to understand engineering principles
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Supervisory experience preferred
