** Your role and responsibilities*
* You would be responsible for conducting experimental investigations of IBM's quantum hardware. You would be expected to correlate device performance with modelling and theoretical predictions, identify fidelity limiting mechanisms, and propose new directions to pursue to improve IBM's quantum computers. We are looking for people with prior experience in experimental quantum computing, but not necessarily superconducting qubits, who can work effectively as an independent contributor in a large dynamic team of scientists.
** Required technical and professional expertise*
* * PhD in physics or related field
* Post doc or professional job experience in experimental quantum computing
** Preferred technical and professional experience*
* * Research background in the field of superconducting qubits
* Experience laying out and simulating quantum devices
