Role Description
Senior Water Engineer to help shape and grow our Water team in the greater New York City area. Hybrid role includes technical excellence and real‑world impact, combining office, remote, and occasional field work to deliver meaningful water and wastewater solutions.
AccountabilitiesLeadership
:
Support professional engineering services during construction, including construction observation, submittal review, RFIs, and permit closeouts; review QA/QC submittals, ensure contract compliance. Additional responsibilities: liaise with project managers and clients, exercise judgment on work details, and adapt engineering alternatives.
Communicate with various stakeholders, including design disciplines, to ensure overall design integrity. Understand Arcadis services, client business, and industry sector to facilitate networking and personal credibility.
Project and Site WorkPlay a vital role in projects requiring both office and field work. Manage tasks to meet budget, timeframe, and quality objectives. Responsibilities: resolve technical issues, provide guidance, carry out investigations and analyses, perform fieldwork activities such as site visits, construction inspection, asset inventory, plant operations information, process troubleshooting, and optimization.
Key Skills and ExperienceDetail‑oriented, independent, technical guidance, strong research, data gathering, technical writing, analytical skills, translate complex information into actionable insights. Cross‑domain expertise, project management, relationship management, sector knowledge, commercial awareness. Strong interpersonal, problem‑solving, time‑management, and communication skills.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an appropriate engineering area
- 10 years of engineering experience
- New York PE license

CompensationSalary range: $121,651 – $165,000. Actual salary depends on experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
