Senior Associate, Commissioning Engineer

We are looking for an experienced commissioning and building systems engineer to lead projects and mentor emerging engineers. The role works directly under the Managing Principal, providing high potential for growth and leadership opportunities, including becoming a subject‑matter expert.

• Perform professional building and system commissioning work by conducting research and inspections of proposed and existing site conditions, equipment, resources, layout, usage, and systems to determine conformance with applicable rules, standards, codes, and installation or operating permits.
• Create commissioning documentation such as plans, reports, qualification equipment documents, facility and utility protocols, and final reports.
• Apply LEED Commissioning Fundamentals, Enhanced, and Monitoring‑Based commissioning practices.
• Write comprehensive reports that include recommendations for optimizing building operations (Energy Audits).
• Prepare data and visualizations such as tables, charts, accurate reports, sketches, calculations, technical drawings, spreadsheets, and 2D/3D illustrations for interpretation or presentation of findings or analyses.
• Manage several concurrent projects in various stages of design, construction, and warranty periods.
• Mentor junior team members.
• Support business development through idea generation and thought leadership.
• Assist in identifying and pursuing new projects through proposals and pitches.
• Travel locally to project sites; occasional travel to California, New Jersey, and Miami may be required.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.

• Minimum 7 years of commissioning experience.
• Proficient in technical writing of commissioning plans and related documents (CMP, URS, RA, FAT, SAT, PFT, FT, CTP, IST, maintenance, calibration, spare parts).
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems; ability to read and interpret P&IDs; experience in construction environments.
• Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or approved equivalent.
• Certified Building Commissioning Professional (CBCP) or approved equivalent.

$130,000 – $150,000
