Open Roads Project Manager – Transportation
Location:
New York City, NY
STV is seeking an experienced and motivated Open Roads Design Engineer / Project Manager to join our New York City team, specializing in transportation infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in Bentley’s Open Roads software, with Open Bridge experience as a valuable asset.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize Bentley’s Open Roads software to develop and refine 3D models, alignments, profiles, corridors, and cross‑sections for transportation projects.
- Mentor and train junior engineers in the effective use of Open Roads, offering guidance and support to build their technical skills.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including engineers, architects, and project managers, to integrate design elements into comprehensive project plans.
- Prepare detailed drawings, plans, and technical specifications for roadway, highway, and transit infrastructure projects.
- Conduct thorough design reviews, constructability assessments, and quality control checks to ensure designs align with project objectives and regulatory standards.
- Contribute to the preparation of project reports, presentations, and client communications to ensure effective project delivery.
- Stay current with industry trends, software advancements, and best practices related to Open Roads, applying new knowledge to enhance project outcomes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field.
- P.E. license in New York or ability to obtain a NY license within six months of hire.
- 5–15 years of transportation engineering experience, with a strong focus on roadway design, alignment optimization, and geometric design.
- Proficiency in Bentley’s Open Roads Designer.
- Strong technical skills in Micro Station, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with design standards and guidelines, including NYSDOT, NYTA, and AASHTO.
- Excellent communication skills, with proven teamwork and problem‑solving abilities.
