Part-Time FAA Aircraft Maintenance Technician

Position: Part-Time FAA Aircraft Maintenance Technician - Farmingdale State College

Job Description:

Farmingdale State College is looking to hire part-time FAA Aircraft Maintenance Technicians. The chosen candidates will be responsible for the following:

* Assemble and install electrical, plumbing, mechanical, hydraulic, and structural components and accessories, using hand tools and power tools.

* Check for corrosion, distortion, and invisible cracks in the fuselage, wings, and tail, using inspection equipment.

* Clean, refuel, and change oil in line service aircraft.

* Conduct routine and special inspections as required by regulations.

* Disassemble engines, and inspect parts such as cylinders for corrosion, wear, warping, cracks, and leaks.

* Examine and inspect aircraft components, including landing gear, hydraulic systems, and de-icers to locate cracks, breaks, leaks, or other problems.

* Prepare and paint aircraft surfaces.

* Participate in the safety program at the Aviation Center.

Requirements:

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Must have FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificates.

* Flexible availability, including weekends.

ADDITIONAL

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Previous experience working in a 141 Flight School as an AMT.

* Bachelor's degree or greater.

Additional Information:

This is a part-time position.

SALARY: $25/hour, may increase commensurate with experience
