Job Overview
This position involves producing and modifying design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans, and specifications for assigned rail/transit projects. The role works closely with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to research, develop, and deliver engineering designs and deliverables, and mentors junior engineers.
Responsibilities- Completes assigned work within the specified schedule and hours.
- Assists in the development of project specifications.
- Develops discipline‑specific engineering project elements/deliverables such as reports, designs, and plans.
- Aids in the coordination and productivity of project team members.
- Provides technical guidance to less experienced engineering project team members.
- Works closely with other disciplines on multi‑discipline projects.
- Conducts quality control reviews of discipline‑specific engineering deliverables.
- Assists with coordination and planning of schedules, hours, and distribution of work within the discipline.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience.
- Master’s degree in Engineering and 3 years of relevant experience.
- Ph.D. in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience.
- Background in rail/transit design and construction.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Micro Station, and/or AutoCAD.
- Demonstrated ability to optimize work processes and focus on continuous improvement.
- Strong time‑management, proactive forecasting, and communication of project development needs.
- Ability to commute to the NYC (Midtown) office.
- Experience with rail systems and stations for projects involving the MTA, Metro‑North, Long Island Railroad, New York City Transit, PANYNJ, Amtrak, or other regional railroads.
- Master’s degree in Engineering.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York or New Jersey.
Location:

Approximate Pay Range: $83,373.48 – $ (subject to qualifications, experience, skills, and physical work location within the state).
