This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for an Assistant Bridge Inspection Technician for our New York City/Valhalla offices. Be involved in projects with our Bridge Inspection Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review previous inspection reports and assist in planning of field operations.
  • Perform inspection work and compile reports under the direction of the Team Leader.
  • Preparation of daily reports.
  • Receive directions from Project Manager and other senior staff.
  • Technical compliance.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Who You Are

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 0-2 years of work experience in bridge or other civil engineering related work.
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
  • Demonstrates commitment to keeping up-to-date in technical knowledge of current and emerging practices.
  • Ability to work well in a team oriented environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Physically capable of performing continuous field work including working at heights and in close quarters, climbing, carrying ladders and gear, working in adverse weather conditions, etc.
  • Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

  • Associate degree.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 Certification.

Compensation

Expected Salary (all locations): $ 51,300.00 - $ 65,000.00

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and may offer additional benefits and compensation, depending on circumstances and the type of work being performed not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
