Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking a mid-level Structural Engineer to be based in our New York Metro office to support our Building and Places group that is focused on Transportation. This position will perform site visits to observe and report on construction activities and address field questions as well as coordinate design and construction issues.
The Structural Engineer will be responsible for the following items:
- Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
- Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
- Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
- Performs work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
- Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete the primary designelements for engineering works.

- BS in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering or related discipline plus Two (2) years of relevant experience in structural design of buildings and transportation structures or demonstrated equivalency of experience/education.
- Professional experience with ETABS or SAP.
- Must be able to perform site visits and have experience with condition assessments and state of good repairs.
- PE License in the state of New York or New Jersey.
- Experience working with transit authorities;
Amtrak, MTA, and PANYNJ. - Masters in Structural Engineering with Three (3) plus years of relevant experience.
- Specific software experience in RAM Structural, AutoCAD, SAFE, TEDDS, MathCAD, Specs Intact, sp Column, spBeam, spWall and Enercalc.
- Revit & Micro Station experience is highly desirable.
- This position does not support relocation assistance.
