Job Overview

Lockheed Martin is shaping the future of defense through cutting edge radar and missile defense technologies. The role focuses on RF hardware design and engineering for advanced radar and missile defense systems.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to technical planning, system development, design, requirements allocation, detail trade studies, verification, validation, cost and risk, test ability, and manufacturability.
  • Support top-level architecture design, mission planning, requirements decomposition, traceability, and lead the development and maturation of RF design through the full program lifecycle.
  • Interface with subject-matter experts and subsystem technology providers; provide RF manufacturing support including assembly and test.
  • Develop work-instruction plans and manufacturing support with manufacturability in mind; perform cascade analysis, modeling, simulation, troubleshooting, and testing of RF subsystems, circuits, and components.
  • Develop and manage RF systems engineering program plans for cost and schedule; lead teams of RF engineers and independently develop solution approaches.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, cross-business areas, and customers to communicate status and results.
  • Provide solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 8 years of professional experience.
  • Experience applying electromagnetics and RF theory.
  • Experience with RF board design and construction, including material selection.
  • Experience with RF analysis tools such as ADS, HFSS, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of analog circuit design, schematic capture, and layout tools.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing cost and schedule.
  • Experience developing trade studies.
  • Experience performing RF testing using VNA, RSA, or spectrum analyzers.
  • Ability to obtain and hold a DoD Secret Security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
Desired Skills
  • Familiarity with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, digital multimeters, and vector network analyzers.
  • Experience with T/R modules and antenna design.
  • Experience guiding the development of technology from design to production, including RF design artifacts.
  • Experience developing requirements at assembly and subassembly level.
  • Experience presenting advanced technical ideas to internal and external customers.
  • Experience leading and inspiring multidisciplinary hardware development teams and managing cost and schedule.
  • Experience with antenna array design.
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools.
  • Experience with MATLAB and test evaluation.
