The Work

This position is for a Deputy Technical Director within the Ground Based Air Surveillance Radar Chief Engineering organization. Responsible for ensuring that the radar system architecture meets the requirements of a given program. Develops modifications to existing products to meet unique customer needs, and supports/leads the development of next-generation products within this market segment. Leads/oversees technical work products developed by the larger engineering team, supporting design reviews and integration and test activities as needed.

Supports capture activities, including RFI/RFP preparation, customer presentations and live demonstrations, and competitor analysis. Leads formal customer sell-off events, and supports troubleshooting fielded radar systems.

In addition, he/she maintains knowledge of current and developing technologies and develops strategies for their insertion into both legacy and next-generation radar systems. Presents to customers and senior management and tailors the material based on the audience.

This role will require some international and domestic travel possible.

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline with 9 years of professional engineering experience

* Knowledge of Radar theory

* Experience working with and/or designing radar systems

* Experience with MATLAB

* Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Security Clearance (requires US Citizenship)

Desired

Skills:

* Master's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline

* Radar waveform/template design

* Understanding of radar signal processing

algorithms

* Radar system performance modeling

* Radar system integration and test experience

* Domestic and International customer experience

* Requirements analysis and definition

* Understanding of the RF/Analog, Digital, and Software building blocks of a radar system

* Effective presentation and communication skills

* Ability to operate as the program engineering POC for Customers, Senior Leadership and the Program Office in a mentored environment

Security Clearance Statement:
This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework:
The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
