Position Summary
The Quality Engineer (QE) is a technical leader who collaborates with multiple departments to ensure quality and delivery goals are achieved. The QE applies analytical and problem-solving techniques to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Interpret, implement, and conform to customer requirements
* Develop and approve quality procedures
* Develop and maintain inspection plans and standards
* Oversee calibration systems in accordance with AS9100 standards
* Coordinate new product launches and design changes
* Manage quality inspection and auditing activities
* Analyze customer complaints and returns
* Drive continuous improvement using Lean and Six Sigma
* Provide auditing and compliance support
* Support MRB activities and corrective actions
* Evaluate suppliers and materials
* Generate First Article Inspections (FAI)
Required
Skills and Abilities
* 5+ years (QE) or 8+ years (Sr QE) experience in manufacturing environment preferred
* Strong customer interaction experience
* Ability to manage multiple priorities
* Ability to read drawings and specifications
* Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, Lean methods
* Proficiency with inspection tools and systems
* Strong communication skills
* Computer skills (Word, Excel, Oracle, etc.)
Education and Experience
Mechanical or Industrial Engineering degree preferred. Experience in Quality Assurance and ISO/AS environments preferred. ASQ Certified Quality Engineer certification is a plus.
