Civil​/Structural Engineer

GEI has an immediate opening for a Staff Civil/Structural Engineer seeking experience in design and construction of hydraulic structures, waterfront structures, temporary works, excavation support systems, and building foundations. Under supervision of senior staff, the Staff Civil/Structural Engineer will produce and/or review structural engineering analyses, reports, construction drawings, specifications, and other deliverables.

• Supporting evaluation and design efforts for structural steel, reinforced concrete, excavation support systems, foundations, and other above and below grade structures, including preparing calculation packages.
• Working on preliminary through final engineering designs; developing design recommendations and producing design deliverables; serving as a project structural engineer supporting the structural lead and/or engineer of record.
• Performing engineering construction oversight of heavy civil, structural, and other types of projects.
• Preparing and presenting technical presentations of evaluation results to internal team.
• Supporting data management and analysis, technical report development, and assisting in preparation of technical presentations and proposals to clients and regulators.
• Coordinating with the Design and Project Management Team to ensure on‑time and on‑budget project delivery.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or similar from an EAC/ABET accredited institution.
• Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) designation.
• 0‑2 years of previous professional experience in civil engineering.
• Strong technical report writing and communication skills.
• Experience with structural analysis programs such as STAAD, RISA, or SAP
  2000.
• Willingness and ability to occasionally travel to perform field tasks and oversight as needed.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license.
• Ability to travel on temporary assignments.

• Master's degree, or equivalent experience, in Structural Engineering or closely related field.
• Experience with design software, such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, or Revit.

Work environment includes primarily sedentary tasks, with occasional light to moderate activities. Physical tasks may include lifting up to 20 lbs (floor to waist level), standing, walking, and climbing. Daily keyboard use for 4‑6 hours. Visual and sensory requirements are normal near and far vision with no special hazards or extreme conditions.
