Primary Responsibilities
- Work as part of a team to produce design criteria, design plans, design calculations, cost estimates and specifications for highway and site/civil projects.
- Work with other project engineers on detailed design of local roadway/highway design, hydraulic/hydrologic analysis, storm/sanitary sewer design, site grading, preparation of stormwater pollution prevention plans including post‑construction stormwater management and sediment and erosion controls, utility design, permitting, and coordinating with regulatory agencies and other design disciplines.
- Take responsibility for alignment and profile, geometrics, drainage, development of plans, specifications and construction estimates.
- Provide assistance with the creation and submission of technical reports, specifications and calculations.
- Work in a production role on design‑build projects to coordinate design packages, track quality control reviews and ensure the project is on schedule.
- MS/BS in Civil Engineering or closely related engineering field.
- Candidates have EIT and are on track for NY or NJ PE. Candidates hired without their EIT will be titled “Civil/Highway Designer”.
- Experience with MTA, NYSDOT, NYSTA, NYCDOT, NYCDDC, NJDOT and/or NJTA projects is preferred.
- Microsoft Office experience required.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

- Local candidates preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar field.
