This is a full-time, on-site role for a Sprinkler/Plumbing Design Engineer at FMC Engineering, located in Manhattan, NY. As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing sprinkler and plumbing system designs for various projects. Commercial to residential conversions, commercial tenant fit out are our specialties. Tasks include creating detailed plans, performing calculations, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, and collaborating with the engineering team and clients.
You will also coordinate with contractors and construction teams to ensure execution aligns with established specifications and timelines. Five to ten plus years' experience. Salary requirements based on professional experience. Principals only need apply.
- Proficiency in Sprinkler & Plumbing Design
- Experience with Water Supply and related systems
- Knowledge of Building Services and Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Hands-on experience with design software and Revit/CADD tools is an asset
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field is preferred
- Familiarity with New York City building codes is a plus
