The OpportunityWorking closely with the Technical Manager, you will play a pivotal role within the Operations Department, taking ownership of high-value energy centre plant rooms. This is an autonomous, technically demanding position where you will deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive fault-finding across large-scale commercial plant machinery. As the business enters a significant three-year growth trajectory, you will benefit from accelerated career development, structured manufacturer training to become a brand ambassador, and the chance to mentor incoming junior engineers.
TechnicalEssentials
- Experience:
Minimum 2 years of dedicated experience operating as a Commercial Gas Engineer with strong operational knowledge of energy centers and plant rooms. - Qualifications:
NVQ Level 2 in Gas, Plumbing, or heating discipline. - Gas Safety & Compliance:
Valid Commercial Gas Registration, Testing & Purging Training Course (TPCP1), and Gas Booster (BMP1). - Technical Proficiency:
Proven track record servicing, fault-finding, and replacing parts on commercial boilers from leading manufacturers (e.g., Hoval, Hamworthy, Ideal, Buderus). - Engineering
Skills:
Ability to interpret complex mechanical schematics and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs). Competence in both mechanical and basic electrical safe isolation. - Logistics:
Valid Full UK Driving License (held for a minimum of 12 months). Willingness to join a 1-in-4 week on-call rota. - Desirable:
Part P or Part G compliance certifications; prior experience working on district heating networks.
- Base Salary: £52,500 – £60,000 (dependent on experience).
- Bonus:
Discretionary performance-related bonus scheme. - Hours:
40-hour standard workweek. - Allowances:
