Position: Mechanical Engineer (EIT/PE) - Buildings & Facilities
Location: New York

My client, a well-established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its growing team in New York. This opportunity is open to engineers with 5+ years of experience through to Senior Engineer level candidates.

This role will focus primarily on commercial and corporate workplace projects, offering the opportunity to work on technically challenging building systems within a collaborative consulting environment.

The successful candidate will support the design and delivery of HVAC and mechanical systems across a range of high-profile commercial interior, workplace, corporate, and base‑building projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop HVAC and mechanical systems for commercial and corporate facilities.
  • Prepare construction documents, specifications, calculations, and technical reports.
  • Support project coordination across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Participate in client meetings, site visits, and construction administration activities.
  • Coordinate with architects, owners, consultants, and contractors throughout project delivery.
  • Support project scheduling, technical quality, and delivery milestones.
  • Contribute to sustainable and energy‑efficient building system solutions.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience within MEP/building engineering consulting.
  • Strong experience working on commercial, workplace, or corporate interior projects.
  • Knowledge of HVAC system design, load calculations, ventilation, piping, and building systems coordination.
  • Familiarity with applicable building codes and industry standards.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Experience with Revit and AutoCAD preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with in multidisciplinary consulting environment.
