Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your environmental, health, and safety (EHS) expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative, proactive, and detail-oriented teammates.

You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring a safe and sustainable workplace, making a tangible impact on the health and well‑being of our teams and the environment. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Operations, Maintenance, and Project teams), conduct risk assessments, and support the development and implementation of EHS plans, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of monitoring EHS objectives and compliance, but also lead investigations and support continuous improvement initiatives.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Supporting the Site EHS Manager in driving safety initiatives and compliance.
  • Tracking and monitoring EHS objectives, including site KPIs, and implementing corrective action plans when needed.
  • Conducting and reviewing risk assessments to mitigate potential hazards.
  • Providing EHS oversight for Track and Guideway projects, including field walks and compliance reviews.
  • Ensuring proper documentation of compliance activities and supporting audits.
  • Developing and maintaining emergency plans, including hosting annual drills.
  • Leading investigations for safety violations, incidents, and accidents, and developing root cause reports.
  • Contributing to the development of an EHS culture through training and awareness programs.
  • Preparing compliance reports and presenting performance improvement data to site leadership.
All About You

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Two years of college education (mandatory).
  • Health & Safety Qualification recognized by local authorities (mandatory).
  • Experience in Environment, Health & Safety actions and activities.
  • Familiarity with ISO
    14001, OHSAS 18001, or ISO
    45001 standards.
  • Comprehensive understanding of local legal EHS requirements.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong communication skills to train and present safety materials effectively.
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills to lead investigations and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Valid driver’s license in accordance with New York State Motor Vehicle Laws.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certificate (desirable).
  • Experience in the rail industry (desirable).
