Telecommunications Specialist II (Data) - Duration of Service
Required:
52 Weeks - Normal Work Week:
Mon through Fri; nights and weekends as required. - No. of Hours Per Week: 40 Hours No holiday work (Unpaid lunch hours.)

Assistant Director - Qualifications Requirements: BS in Electrical Engineering, Data Telecommunications, or related computer degree.
- Experience Requirements: 3-5 years of experience in software engineering design OR data communications/network communication systems design OR electronic security design.
- Licensing Requirements:
None - Special Skills/Training Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering is preferred but equivalent college education can be considered substitutable
- Preferred, but not required experience with data telecommunication network deployment or communications application, such as: CCTV, PSLAN, Laser Intrusion Detection Systems, Electronic Access Control or Video Management Systems (VMS), or Physical Security Information Systems (PSIM).
- Experience in analytic planning or operational, technical and/or administrative duties.
- Knowledge of engineering processes and practical experience.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Windows, Word and Excel
- Proficiency in the English language with the ability to clearly write, communicate and organize project information, reports, process design/construction contract-related documents and interact with other NYCT departments.
- Description of Work:
- Provide design coordination and project management support services for Communications and Security contracts.
- The consultant shall be working primarily on design document coordination or other related support documentation (budget, schedule, etc.) for communications network or applications in the Design Manager's Office.
- Coordinate design documents as required.
- Coordinate activities with the design disciplines and maintenance divisions.
- Coordinate daily work activities for the Design Manager according to NYCT Project Management Procedures and Guidelines.
- Identify, track, address and assist the Design Manager or his/her designee with resolution of any technical issues with design.

Job Requirements:- One-day NYC Transit Track Safety Training Course (provided by NYCT) is required prior to participating in work on or near the wayside.
- The consultant shall provide safety shoes, at own expense, which meets NYCT guidelines and specifications, when participating in any activities located on the track or wayside.
Proper footwear required to perform tasks in a safe manner.
Perform other reasonably related duties as required.
