Akkodis is seeking a Technical Writer - Calibration Systems for a Contract to Hire with a client in Fairport, NY (Hybrid). The ideal candidate will create clear, standardized technical documentation for calibration and end-of-line test systems to support manufacturing, training, and replication.
Rate Range: $55/hour to $60/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Technical Writer - Calibration Systems Job Responsibilities include:
- Develop detailed technical documentation for calibration stands and end-unit testing systems, including processes, workflows, and system functionality.
- Translate complex engineering inputs into clear, structured, and user-friendly documentation.
- Create step-by-step operating guides, end-of-line testing procedures, and training reference materials.
- Document bills of materials (BOMs), component relationships, and equipment configurations.
- Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and production teams to gather, validate, and standardize information.
- Organize and maintain documentation to support scalability, duplication of test cells, and operational efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Technical Communication, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in technical documentation or technical writing within manufacturing or engineering environments.
- Proven experience documenting test systems, calibration equipment, BOMs, and end-of-line manufacturing processes.
- Strong ability to translate complex technical and engineering inputs into clear, standardized, user-friendly documentation and visuals.

Pay Details: $55.00 to $60.00 per hour
