Who we are
Hatfield Group Engineering, based in New York City, works with architects, building owners and developers to design high profile buildings in NYC and beyond. Our projects are varied and range from large hospitality to commercial to multi-family residential. The Senior Electrical Engineer will work directly with our Principals, clients, and our engineering team, supporting projects from Design through Construction.
The RoleThis role has significant upward mobility with raises and promotions based on merit. We are looking for Electrical engineers with a minimum of 7 years of experience designing MEP/FP systems. Your primary focus will be performing calculations, preparing drawing sets for issues, coordination with clients/architects and other team members. Your work involves familiarity with NYC Building Code and applying reference standards to your work.
The range of responsibilities and opportunities for this position is limited only by the drive of the successful candidate, this role has plenty of upward growth potential.
You will use analysis tools like IES, ETAP and Elite and more to prepare calculations and size systems for a variety of projects. We promise to keep you challenged and never bored. Here are some regular tasks you may undertake:
- Develop high quality and organized calculations
- Design Electrical systems for a growing portfolio of high profile work
- Coordinate directly with team members during design and construction
- Manage the preparation of drawing sets for issue
- Coordinate with the internal team to provide support to your projects.
- 7 years of professional experience within an MEP engineering firm
- 4-year degree in Engineering required, Master’s Degree a plus
- PE is required
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work cooperatively within a small group of design professionals
- Proficiency with Revit and Microsoft Office
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and on multiple deadlines
- An appreciation of good design and enthusiasm for sustainable design
