Field Technician – Northern New YorkThis role supports Engineering & Operations across Northern New York State, covering Franklin, St. Lawrence counties and communities such as Malone, Potsdam, and Canton. The ideal candidate thrives in a hands‑on environment, works independently, and supports a wide range of network sites.
Role OverviewThe Field Technician provides technical contributions within and occasionally beyond the immediate team, supporting operational and project‑based work. Requires solid understanding of RAN, backhaul, signaling, disaster recovery, data services, and location‑based services, along with foundational knowledge of network design, capacity planning, and AC/DC power systems.
Main Responsibilities- Technical Support: Troubleshoot network performance issues, support outage resolution, and identify opportunities for operational improvement.
- Project Support: Execute and support key projects, ensuring accurate tracking, reporting, and communication.
- Operations: Recommend process improvements and assist in developing documentation, job aids, and procedures.
- Continuous Learning: Stay current with evolving technologies, systems, and company standards.
- Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent relevant field experience (no degree required).
- 2–4 years of experience in field operations, maintenance, or related technical roles.
- 2–4 years of experience in wireless telecommunications or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of electronics and telecommunications systems (RF, fiber, microwave, RAN, 5G , Base Station, Backhaul, power systems) – required.
- Experience with Ericsson and/or Nokia RAN equipment – preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities – project management skills required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard computer applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on‑call rotation.
- Ability to lift 50–70 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Continuous development, disaster recovery planning, and technical support – required.
- At least 21 years of age to operate a company‑assigned vehicle.

Base Pay Range: $27.16 – $48.99 per hour. Corporate Bonus Target: 10%.
