Job Description
Taconic, a global leader in the manufacture of PTFE coated fiberglass fabric, belts and tapes, is seeking a Project Engineer to lead capital equipment and facility improvement initiatives within an industrial manufacturing environment. This position will own projects from concept through commissioning, including equipment design, building upgrades, contractor management, installation, and startup. This position is in a fast-paced, plant setting solving complex engineering challenges that directly impact production performance, safety, and long-term operational efficiency.
This is a high-visibility, hands on role with significant autonomy and influence over capital planning and facility modernization.
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial, or related Engineering discipline with 3–7 years of relevant experience. Demonstrated experience leading capital or equipment improvement projects in an industrial environment. Strong project planning, cost estimation, and contractor management skills required, with the ability to work independently to drive projects to completion. Experience with mechanical and electrical system design required. Must have experience with CAD software (Solid Works, AutoCAD, or similar), PLC-controlled systems and industrial automation.
PMP certification or formal project management training is desirable. Salary range - $95,000 - $140,000 per year.
