As a Commissioning & Energy Specialist on our team in New York, you will participate in both onsite and office activities to support Commissioning and Energy projects.
ResponsibilitiesYou will lead and perform all commissioning related activities, including testing (QA/QC, Functional Performance), equipment and systems start‑up, resulting in a safe and functional environment that meets established design requirements and stakeholder expectations. Projects will range from new construction and renovations to existing building commissioning and asset management projects.
With a focus on operational performance and efficiency, you will work directly with Jacobs clients, project stakeholders, and contractors to achieve the best possible outcomes for the owner/client.
You will also be involved in energy projects such as audits, efficiency studies, and renewable energy development focused on improving performance for clients.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or equivalent experience
- At least 5 years of experience in commissioning, design, or construction management with a focus on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or building envelope systems
- Working knowledge of building code requirements
- US Citizenship
- Ability to travel up to 50%; travel may include multi‑week field assignments and periodic long‑term assignments
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or building envelope systems
- Understanding of the construction process
- Experience in mission‑critical/data center construction and/or operation
- Industry‑recognized commissioning certification
- Professional Engineer licensure or Engineer‑In‑Training certification
- Industry‑recognized energy management certification
- Current or past security clearance
- LEED or other sustainability certification

The base salary range for this position is $104,100 to $182,200. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors such as job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
