Project Schedulers (Rail Transit & NYCT)

Tectonic is actively seeking experienced, full‑time Project Schedulers for upcoming MTA Transit projects (NYC Transit, Metro North Railroad, Long Island Rail Road, Staten Island Railway, Bus, etc.) and for upcoming NJ Transit and Amtrak projects. Base Pay Range

$75,000.00/yr - $/yr

  • Using scopes, estimates, drawings and contract specifications, create CPM project schedules, resource plans and cost budgeting utilizing Primavera P6 software.
  • Perform project site visits to build and update various construction schedules.
  • Develop and present to the client and project management team solutions to schedule conflicts, labor availability issues, mitigation of schedule delays, and other scheduling‑related issues.
  • Review and comment on various contractor schedule submissions, including baseline versus update analysis, identification of critical paths to ascertain project completion status, forecasting delays and evaluation of alternative scenarios.
  • Perform delay claims analysis as needed.
  • Execute monthly status reporting, including preparation, updating and distribution of various monthly bar charts, histograms and schedule extracts delineating work completed to date and plan for upcoming work activities.
  • Perform earned value analysis.
  • Assist with resource planning/leveling.
  • All related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of five years of related work experience in planning, scheduling,AEC monitoring and project controls of rail transit construction or design‑build projects or equivalent transportation or public works or rail projects.
  • Strong computer skills with thorough knowledge of Primavera P6 software for planning, tracking and monitoring of project scope, resource and cost.
  • BS degree in construction management, engineering or a related field is strongly preferred; HS diploma or equivalent required.
  • PMI‑SP certification is highly preferred.
  • Ability to understand and interpret written specifications, plans and construction documents for work orders and build documents.
  • Ability to effectively and tactfully communicate with clients, supervisors and project team members.
Physical Requirements

The employee is required to assume a stationary position, handle, inspect and, at times, feel documents, materials and equipment relevant to the job and communicate about them. Regularly required to move around on project sites and within buildings and other structures, including ascending or descending the landscape or on a ladder. The job site will often contain hazards associated with an operating rail transit system, including trains traveling at high speed adjacent to the work area, electrified third rail or catenary wire, stone ballast walking surfaces, track systems including running rail, concrete or creosote‑soaked timber ties, and uneven ballast surfaces.

The employee will also communicate with colleagues, supervisors and clients using corporate and client e‑mail and telephone systems. Employees may also be required to undergo substance‑abuse testing in accordance with project requirements, US DOT regulations, or company policy. The employee may occasionally be required to operate a computer and other office machinery such as calculators, printers and copy machines. This position may also require the regular operation of a motor vehicle, which may require remaining stationary for extended periods of time.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $75,000 - $155,000 per year.
